The control plane for AI-native engineering
Run engineering on AI, from roadmap to release, across every team. Your engineers keep the agent harness they already use; Wakalix adds the agents, context, guardrails and record around it.
Why Wakalix
Scaling AI across engineering raises six challenges — speed, spend, security, insight, consistency and learning. Wakalix is built to solve each one.
Planning, review, approval and release still move at human pace. AI sped up one step out of six.
Token bills grow every month, and nobody can say which work they paid for.
Secrets, customer data and injected instructions now pass through AI tools unchecked.
Who asked, who approved, what shipped, and was it worth it? The answer is scattered across tools.
Different tools, prompts and habits in every team. Shadow AI, and no shared standard.
Every sprint starts from scratch, so the same AI mistakes keep coming back.
How it works
People set direction and make the calls. AI agents do the heavy lifting. Every hand-off between them is explicit, and every step is on the record.
Every product keeps a ranked roadmap. Open a cycle from any item, and the roadmap keeps track of every cycle it spawned and what each one produced.

A planning agent breaks the work into items, each with a clear definition of done and the right agent to do it. Nothing runs until someone on your side approves the plan. Approving it is what creates the work.

Before an agent begins, Wakalix assembles its context package: what's being asked, the parts of the codebase that matter, your standards and rules, and the decisions already made. The agent starts informed — not cold.
A developer, an architect, a reviewer, a product manager — each with a defined job and hand-off, running in your engineers' own harness on the subscriptions you already have. When an agent reaches a decision that belongs to a person, it stops, lays out the options and waits. It doesn't guess.

Every piece of work comes back with its evidence: the commit, the branch, the agent and version that produced it, and a verdict against each acceptance criterion. A person accepts it, challenges it or sends it back. It lands as a pull request in your own repository — and a person merges it.

At the end of a cycle, the team looks back. What an agent refused, got wrong or had to ask about goes back into the agents themselves — so the next cycle starts from a better team, not from scratch. And you can see how the quarter's work moved: what was planned, what landed, and where it waited.

Many teams, one system
Teams choose their harness, the agents they need and the rhythm they work at. Leadership sees one roadmap, one set of guardrails and one record — across all of them.
Highlighted agents are ones a team built for itself
Visibility for leaders
One answer for the board, built from the record: what shipped, what it consumed, how often it was right first time, and how much of your people's time it took.

Agents your company owns
Most teams run AI on prompts scattered across laptops. In Wakalix, every agent is defined once, owned by your organisation, released like software and improved every cycle.
| A prompt | An agent config file | A Wakalix agent | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared across the organisation | – | Per repository | Across every team and repository |
| Versioned and released | – | Git history | Released, pinned, rolled back |
| Knows who it hands work to | – | – | ✓ typed hand-offs |
| Stops and asks when unsure | – | If it remembers to | ✓ a defined outcome |
| Rules held outside the model | – | – | ✓ guardrails |
| Every run on the record | – | – | ✓ audit trail |
| Improves after every cycle | – | By hand | ✓ through the retro |
Build, test, release
Describe the job in your own words. The agent builder drafts the definition — and asks about anything it can't infer, instead of guessing.

Every new version runs against test cases before it goes live. A version that can't pass its own evaluation isn't published.

Guardrails
Most tools write your rules into the prompt and hope. Wakalix builds most of them into how work moves — so they can't be skipped — and leaves only real judgement calls to the AI.
Work only arrives as a pull request — never straight into main.
Built inEvery change says which requirement it serves.

Where Wakalix fits
Specs make one feature better. Wakalix runs the system around every feature — the roadmap, the teams, the agents, the approvals and the record.
Security & governance
AI-assisted development brings new risks — leaked secrets, injected instructions, unreviewed changes. Wakalix is designed to close them.
AI runs on your engineers' machines, so code only reaches the AI provider you approved.
Agents use each engineer's own access, so there's no shared credential to leak.
Every agent change is reviewed and accepted by a person before it reaches your code.
Guardrails check agent output for credentials and personal data before it's accepted.
Single sign-on with your directory, so access ends the moment IT removes someone.
Decide who may use which agent, against which repository.
Typed outputs and human approval mean an injected instruction can't quietly ship.
Every agent action is attributable, so incidents trace back fast and audit evidence already exists.
Cost under control
Every item is estimated when it's planned and tracked against that estimate as it runs. AI spend becomes a number you agree to, not a bill you discover.
